Inboard/Outboard Adjustment-Quarter Glass

  1. Raise the quarter glass to the full up position with the top fully closed.
  2. Check for gaps between the quarter glass weather-strip and door glass.
    NOTE:

    Flushness: Door glass to quarter glass outer surfaces are flush to each other.

    NOTE:

    Rotating the quarter glass jack screws (1, 2 and 3) clockwise will move points one, two and three outboard respectively, counterclockwise will move the points inboard.

  3. Remove the quarter trim panel. Refer to PANEL, QUARTER TRIM, REMOVAL .
  4. Loosen the jack screw set nuts.
  5. Rotate jackscrews to achieve the proper gap between the quarter glass and door glass, at locations (2 and 3).
  6. Rotate jackscrew (1) to achieve the proper gap between the quarter glass, door glass at the top.
  7. Cycle quarter glass between full up and full down positions. Verify operation and adjust as necessary.
  8. Tighten the jack screw set nuts. Tighten to 8 N.m (71 in. lbs.).

  9. Check the gap measurement at location C. Refer to GLASS, SPECIFICATIONS .

  10. If the gap measurement is too high, loosen the up stop nut (1) and adjust as necessary.
  11. Perform a scissor check of the glass as follows:
    1. Raise both windows to the full up position.
    2. Lower the front glass fully.
    3. Raise up the front glass fully.
    4. Make sure the rear edge of the front glass doesn't move to the inside of the quarter glass seal, leading edge.
    5. Lower and raise the quarter glass fully.
    6. Make sure the front edge of the quarter glass doesn't move to the outside of the front glass seal, leading edge. Also make sure that there is no distortion of the quarter glass seal.
  12. Install the quarter trim panel. Refer to PANEL, QUARTER TRIM, INSTALLATION .
