Water Leak - Zone A

  1. Header weatherstrip (1) not installed correctly, not in retainer or positioned correctly, tape not adhered.
    1. Remove the backing to the tape and firmly seat the header weatherstrip into position.
    2. Firmly seat the weatherstrip into the correct position.
    3. Adjust the weatherstrip. Refer to WEATHERSTRIP, CONVERTIBLE TOP, ADJUSTMENTS .
    4. Replace the weatherstrip. Refer to WEATHERSTRIP, CONVERTIBLE TOP, REMOVAL .
    5. Retest for water leaks. Refer to CONVERTIBLE TOP, CST AND RHT COMMON COMPONENTS, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Front rail weatherstrip (2) not installed correctly.
    1. Adjust the weatherstrip. Refer to WEATHERSTRIP, CONVERTIBLE TOP, ADJUSTMENTS .
    2. Replace the weatherstrip. Refer to WEATHERSTRIP, CONVERTIBLE TOP, REMOVAL .
    3. Retest for water leaks. Refer to CONVERTIBLE TOP, CST AND RHT COMMON COMPONENTS, STANDARD PROCEDURE

  3. Door and quarter glass not adjusted properly.
    1. Adjust door glass. Refer to GLASS, ADJUSTMENTS .
    2. Retest for water leaks. Refer to CONVERTIBLE TOP, CST AND RHT COMMON COMPONENTS, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  4. Foam not sticking along entire header.
    1. Replace the header foam.
    2. Firmly seat foam to header.
    3. Retest for water leaks. Refer to CONVERTIBLE TOP, CST AND RHT COMMON COMPONENTS, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  5. Hole (2) in molded corner of header weatherstrip (1).
    1. Replace the weatherstrip. Refer to WEATHERSTRIP, CONVERTIBLE TOP, REMOVAL .
    2. Retest for water leaks. Refer to CONVERTIBLE TOP, CST AND RHT COMMON COMPONENTS, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  6. Bad body shop sealer in ditch molding.
    1. Remove the ditch molding.
    2. Skive smooth entire length of bead forming a smooth transition (2).
    3. Install the ditch molding.
    4. Retest for water leaks. Refer to CONVERTIBLE TOP, CST AND RHT COMMON COMPONENTS, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
