NOTE:
The hydraulic system uses ARAL VITAMOL ZH-M fluid. When replacing components or topping off system due to leak, make sure to use only approved fluid. When adding fluid, refer to ASSEMBLY, HYDRAULIC, MOTOR AND PUMP, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Open decklid conventionally,
- Disconnect and isolate the battery negative remote cable.
- Remove the rear and side trunk trim panels. Refer to PANEL, TRUNK TRIM, REMOVAL .
- Remove the spare tire cover/floor of the trunk.
- Release the pump pressure valve (3) by turning it two rotations counter clockwise (1).
- Using a small flat bladed tool or equivalent, release the retaining clips while pulling the ball socket away from the ball stud.
- Remove the cylinder mounting plate fasteners (2) and remove the cylinder (1) from the vehicle.
- At the hydraulic cylinder, slide the retaining clamp off and pull out line.CAUTION:
Be careful to catch all fluid in a catch container.
- Remove the hall effect on the left cylinder. Refer to SWITCH, POWER TOP, REMOVAL , SWITCH, POWER TOP, CLOSED POSITION, REMOVAL , SWITCH, POWER TOP, DECK BAR CYLINDER POSITION, REMOVAL , SWITCH, POWER TOP, DECKLID LATCH LIMIT, REMOVAL , SWITCH, POWER TOP, HARD TOP PANEL LATCHED, REMOVAL , SWITCH, POWER TOP, HARD TOP PANEL UNLATCHED, REMOVAL , SWITCH, POWER TOP, HEADER LATCHED, REMOVAL , SWITCH, POWER TOP, HEADER UNLATCHED, REMOVAL , SWITCH, POWER TOP, LUGGAGE PROTECTOR POSITION, REMOVAL and/or SWITCH, POWER TOP, STACK CYLINDER POSITION, REMOVAL .
