Cylinder, Folding Top Hydraulic: Removal: DECKBAR

NOTE:

The hydraulic system uses ARAL VITAMOL ZH-M fluid. When replacing components or topping off system due to leak, make sure to use only approved fluid. When adding fluid, refer to ASSEMBLY, HYDRAULIC, MOTOR AND PUMP, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  1. Open decklid conventionally,
  2. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative remote cable.
  3. Remove the rear and side trunk trim panels. Refer to PANEL, TRUNK TRIM, REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the spare tire cover/floor of the trunk.
  5. Release the pump pressure valve (3) by turning it two rotations counter clockwise (1).

  6. Using a small flat bladed tool or equivalent, release the retaining clips while pulling the ball socket away from the ball stud.

  7. Remove the cylinder mounting plate fasteners (2) and remove the cylinder (1) from the vehicle.

  8. At the hydraulic cylinder, slide the retaining clamp off and pull out line.
    CAUTION:

    Be careful to catch all fluid in a catch container.

  9. Remove the hall effect on the left cylinder. Refer to SWITCH, POWER TOP, REMOVAL , SWITCH, POWER TOP, CLOSED POSITION, REMOVAL , SWITCH, POWER TOP, DECK BAR CYLINDER POSITION, REMOVAL , SWITCH, POWER TOP, DECKLID LATCH LIMIT, REMOVAL , SWITCH, POWER TOP, HARD TOP PANEL LATCHED, REMOVAL , SWITCH, POWER TOP, HARD TOP PANEL UNLATCHED, REMOVAL , SWITCH, POWER TOP, HEADER LATCHED, REMOVAL , SWITCH, POWER TOP, HEADER UNLATCHED, REMOVAL , SWITCH, POWER TOP, LUGGAGE PROTECTOR POSITION, REMOVAL and/or SWITCH, POWER TOP, STACK CYLINDER POSITION, REMOVAL .
