Water Leak Strategy

CAUTION:

Avoid high-pressure washes, as they can damage the top material. Also, increased water pressure may force water past the weatherstrips.

  1. Identify where the water is entering the vehicle and what environmental conditions/driving conditions they occur at.
  2. Dry off all areas and tape (1) off the vehicle, as shown, except where the water is entering (2) and retest to confirm entry.
  3. Based on where the water is entering and confirmed, diagnose the problem. Refer to CONVERTIBLE TOP, CST AND RHT COMMON COMPONENTS, DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING .
  4. Retest after adjustment or part replacement. If not dry, go to  2. If dry continue to step  5.
  5. Remove all tape from the convertible top and test for leaks. Repeat if not dry. Go to  1.
