M8 Adjustment

The M8 is used to adjust the front casting. Driving the screw (4) into the casting, the front header (1) will drop and move forward (3). Driving the screw out of the casting, the front header will raise and move rearward (2). This will effect front latching, verify proper closing and adjust the header latching system in order to get top operating automatically or adjust the striker plates on the top. To adjust the strikers follow the striker installation procedure. Refer to PLATE, STRIKER, HEADER LATCH, INSTALLATION  or PLATE, STRIKER, HEADER LATCH, INSTALLATION .

  1. Remove the center rail trim panels on both sides, by removing the lower two pushins and carefully pulling the trim away from the casting until all retainers disengage.
  2. Raise the roof panel approximately six inches away from the header.

  3. Prior to any adjustments, mark screw (2) and/or measure screw to casting (1).
  4. Drive the adjustment screw (1) into the casting (1) to move the header casting forward and down.
  5. Drive the adjustment screw into the casting to move the header casting rearward and up.
  6. Close the top and verify proper operation.
