Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR BCM CAN BUS DTCS
- With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
Are any BCM CAN BUS DTCs present?
Yes
- Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. Perform the diagnostic procedure for DTC U0001-CAN C BUS first if the fault is present.
- Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE and perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST.
No
- Go To 2.
- With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
- CHECK IF STEERING CONTROL MODULE (SCM) DTCS ARE PRESENT
- With the scan tool, read SCM DTCs.
Are any SCM DTCs present?
Yes
- Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.
- Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE and perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST.
No
- Using the schematics as a guide, check the Transmission Control Module Assembly (TCMA) terminals for corrosion, damage or terminal push out. Pay particular attention to all power and ground circuits. If no problems are found, replace and program the TCMA in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to VALVE BODY, REMOVAL .
- Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE and perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST.
- With the scan tool, read SCM DTCs.
