Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR BCM CAN BUS DTCS
- With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
Are there any BCM CAN BUS DTCs present?
Yes
- Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.
No
- Go To 2
- With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
- CHECK IF BCM DTCS ARE PRESENT
- With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
Are there any BCM DTCs present?
Yes
- Refer to the BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX - 2500 HD & 3500 HD article and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.
- Perform the 68RFE TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to 68RFE TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Using the schematics as a guide, check the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) pins, terminals, and connectors for corrosion, damage, or terminal push out. Pay particular attention to all power and ground circuits. If no problems are found, replace and program the PCM in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the 68RFE TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to 68RFE TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
- With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
