WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2015 RAM 3500 HD and 2015 RAM 2500 HD. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. DTC IS ACTIVE
    NOTE:

If P0233, P027B, P2633, or P2634 DTCs are present, perform the Diagnostics for those DTCs before continuing with this one.

    1. Ignition on, engine not running.
    2. With the scan tool, clear DTCs in the PCM.
    3. Using the scan tool, perform the Dual Fuel Tank Enable actuation test (toggle Enable/Disable).
    4. With the scan tool, select View DTCs.

Is the status Active for this DTC?

      Yes

      • Go To  2

      No

  2. CHECK THE (N69) FUEL PUMP 2 ON/OF CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
    NOTE:

Before performing any further tests in this Diagnostic Tree, verify that the (F73) 20A Fuse is not open.

    1. Using the scan tool, perform the Dual Fuel Tank Enable actuation test (toggle Enable/Disable).
    2. Using a Voltmeter, back-probe the (N69) Fuel Pump 2 On/Off Control circuit at the BCM C1 harness connector.

Does the voltage toggle on/off along with the actuation test?

      Yes

      • Go To  4

      No

      • Go To  3
  3. POWER DISTRIBUTION CENTER (PDC)
    1. Disconnect the PDC C6 harness connector.
    2. Using the scan tool, perform the Dual Fuel Tank Enable actuation test (toggle Enable/Disable).
    3. Using a Voltmeter, measure the (N69) Fuel Pump 2 On/Off Control circuit at the PDC C6 harness connector.

Does the voltage toggle on/off along with the actuation test?

      Yes

      No

      • Replace the Power Distribution Center (PDC) in accordance with the service information.
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L .
  4. CHECK THE (N69) FUEL PUMP 2 ON/OFF CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the BCM C1 harness connector.
    3. Measure the resistance between ground and the (N69) Fuel Pump 2 On/Off Control circuit at the BCM C1 harness connector.

Is the resistance below 10k Ohms?

      Yes

      No

      • Go To  5
  5. CHECK THE (N69) FUEL PUMP 2 ON/OFF CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN/HIGH RESISTANCE
    1. Measure the resistance of the (N69) Fuel Pump 2 On/Off Control circuit between the BCM C1 harness connector and the PDC C6 harness connector.

Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?

      Yes

      • Go To  6

      No

      • Repair the (N69) Fuel Pump 2 On/Off Control circuit for an open or high resistance.
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L .
  6. POWER DISTRIBUTION CENTER
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Replace the Power Distribution Center (PDC) in accordance with the service information.
    3. Turn the ignition on.
    4. With the scan tool, erase PCM DTCs.
    5. Using the scan tool, perform the Dual Fuel Tank Enable actuation test (toggle Enable/Disable).
    6. With the scan tool, read PCM DTCs.

Does the scan tool display this DTC?

      Yes

      • Replace the Body Control Module (BCM) in accordance with the service information.
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L .
