    2. With the scan tool, navigate to the BCM and PCM to activate the Primary (Main) and Auxiliary (Secondary) Lift Pumps.
    3. Visually inspect the transfer hose between the Auxiliary (Secondary) Fuel Tank and the Primary (Main) Fuel Tank for leaks.

      Were any leaks found?

      Yes

      No

      • Go To  3
  3. CHECK THE PRIMARY (MAIN) FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Primary (Main) Fuel Tank Assembly in-line harness connector.
    3. Turn the ignition on.
    4. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the scan tool display DTC: P0460-15-FUEL LEVEL SENSOR 1 - CIRCUIT SHORT TO BATTERY OR OPEN with the connector unplugged?

      Yes

      • Check the Primary (Main) Fuel Tank Assembly harness for any signs of damage which could cause an open or shorted circuit. If the harness checks good, replace the Primary (Main) Fuel Tank Level Sending Unit in accordance with the Service Information.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No

      • Go To  4
  4. CHECK THE (N4) FUEL LEVEL SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the BCM C5/E harness connector.
    3. Check for continuity between ground and the (N4) Fuel Level Sensor Signal circuit at the Primary (Main) Fuel Tank Assembly in-line harness connector.

Is there continuity between ground and the (N4) Fuel Level Sensor Signal circuit?

      Yes

      • Repair the (N4) Fuel Level Sensor Signal circuit for a short to ground.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No

      • Go To  5
  5. CHECK THE (N4) FUEL LEVEL SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO THE (G109) FUEL LEVEL SENSE RETURN CIRCUIT
    1. Check for continuity between the (G109) Fuel Level Sense Return circuit and the (N4) Fuel Level Sensor Signal circuit at the Primary (Main) Fuel Tank Assembly in-line harness connector.

Is there continuity between the (N4) Fuel Level Sensor Signal circuit and the (G109) Fuel Level Sense Return circuit?

      Yes

      • Repair the short between the (G109) Fuel Level Sense Return circuit and the (N4) Fuel Level Sensor Signal circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No

      • Go To  6
  6. BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)
    1. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors at the Fuel Tank Assembly in-line, Fuel Pump Module and the BCM.
    2. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires.
    3. Look for broken, bent, pushed out or corroded terminals. Verify that there is good pin to terminal contact in the Fuel Pump Module and the BCM harness connectors.
    4. Perform any Service Bulletins that may apply.

      Were any problems found?

      Yes

      No

      • Go To  7
  7. POWER DISTRIBUTION CENTER
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Replace the Power Distribution Center in accordance with the Service Information.
    3. Turn the ignition on.
    4. With the scan tool, erase PCM DTCs.
    5. Perform several ignition key cycles leaving the ignition on for at least 10 seconds per cycle.
    6. Start the engine and let it run for two minutes.
    7. With the scan tool, read PCM DTCs.

Does the scan tool display this DTC?

      Yes

      • Go To  8

      No

  8. POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE
