Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, read DTCs and record on the repair order.
  Is the DTC active or pending?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 2
  No
  - Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
CHECK THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE FOR DTCS
1. With the scan tool, read DTCs in the TCM.
  Are there any DTCs set in the TCM?
  
  Yes
  - Perform the diagnostic procedure in the TCM. Refer to POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) - ELECTRICAL DIAGNOSTICS - 68RFE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - 2500 HD & 3500 HD .
  No
  - Replace the Transmission Control Module in accordance with the Service Information.
    Refer to MODULE, TRANSMISSION CONTROL, REMOVAL .
