- With the scan tool, read the BCM DTCs.
- CHECK THE BTSI SOLENOID FOR CORRECT OPERATION NOTE:
The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery.
- Turn the ignition off to the lock position.
- Electronic Shift Module (ESM) equipped vehicles: Disconnect the Shifter Lever Assembly harness connector.
- Non-ESM equipped vehicles: Disconnect the BTSI Solenoid harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the (K321) BTSI Control circuit at the Shifter Lever Assembly C2 harness connector.
- With the scan tool, actuate the BTSI Solenoid.
Does the test light illuminate brightly on and off while cycling the actuator?
Yes
- ESM equipped vehicles: Replace the BTSI Solenoid (Integral to the Transmission Shifter) in accordance with the Service Information.
- Non-ESM equipped vehicles: Replace the BTSI Solenoid (Integral to the Transmission Shifter) in accordance with the Service Information. (Refer to )
