Tube, Fuel Tank Filler: Removal: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate both of the negative battery cables.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Disconnect the DEF filler hose at filler neck tube (2).
  4. Disconnect the DEF vent hose at filler neck tube (1).
  5. Remove support and partially lower the vehicle.
  6. Remove the left rear wheel house splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, REAR WHEELHOUSE, REMOVAL .

  7. Loosen clamp (4) and disconnect the diesel fuel filler tube.
  8. Loosen clamp (1) and disconnect the diesel fuel vent tube (2).
  9. Remove nut (5) securing the ground wire (5) to frame rail.

  10. Disconnect the fuel vapor hose (2) from tank fitting (1).

  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12. Remove the DEF cap (1).

  13. Remove screws and the fuel filler tube through wheel well.
