  1. VERIFY THE DTC IS ACTIVE
    1. Perform any Service Bulletins that may apply.
    2. Wait 10 minutes.
    3. Turn the ignition on.
    4. Start the vehicle.
    5. With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs.
    6. Place the vehicle in "Transport Mode" switch to ON.
    7. Wait 45 seconds.
    8. With the vehicle in "Transport Mode" switch to OFF.
    9. Wait 45 seconds.
    10. With the scan tool, read ASCM DTCs.

Is the DTC active at this time?

      Yes

      • Go To  2

      No

      • Go To  6
  2. CHECK AIR COMPRESSOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR

Is the temperature above 176°F (80°C)?

    Yes

    • Go To  3

    No

  3. AIR COMPRESSOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the ASCM C3 harness connector.
    3. Measure the resistance between (Y45) Compressor Temp Signal circuit and the (Y46) Compressor Temp Return circuit at the ASCM C3 harness connector.

Is the resistance below 3K Ohms?

      Yes

      • Go To  4

      No

  4. (Y45) COMPRESSOR TEMP SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
    1. Disconnect the Air Compressor Assembly harness connector.
    2. Measure the resistance between ground and the (Y45) Compressor Temp Signal circuit.

Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?

      Yes

      • Repair the (Y45) Compressor Temp Signal circuit for a short to ground.
      • Perform the ASCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

      No

      • Go To  5
  5. (Y46) COMPRESSOR TEMP RETURN CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
    1. Measure the resistance between ground and the (Y46) Compressor Temp Return circuit.

Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?

      Yes

      • Repair the (Y46) Compressor Temp Return circuit for a short to ground.
      • Perform the ASCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

      No

  6. INTERMITTENT WIRING, CONNECTORS AND AIR LINES
    1. Inspect the intake and exhaust air lines for restrictions, debris, or contamination.
    2. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring harness and connectors.
    3. Wiggle test the wiring harness and connectors while monitoring the scan tool data relative to this circuit.
    4. Look for the data to change or for the DTC to reset during the wiggle test.
    5. While monitoring the scan tool data relative to this circuit, move the air suspension switch to each position several times.
    6. Look for the data to change other than as expected or for the DTC to reset.

      Were any problems found?

      Yes

      No

      • Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time.
