WARNING:
The normal operating temperature of the exhaust system is very high. Therefore, never work around or attempt to service any part of the exhaust system until it is cooled. Special care should be taken when working near the catalytic converter. The temperature of the converter rises to a high level after a short period of engine operation time.
There are two catalytic converters (1) integrated within the Y-pipe. One converter collects the exhaust from the right bank and a second one collects the exhaust from the left bank. The catalytic converters are not serviceable separate from the Y-pipe. If either catalytic converter requires service, the Y-pipe will need to be replaced. Refer to PIPE, EXHAUST, REMOVAL .
