Seal, Axle Drive Shaft: Removal: Removal: Left: Right

NOTE:

The differential does not need to be removed to service the right axle seal.

  1. Remove right side hub bearing and axle shaft.

  2. Remove the 4WD shift actuator (1).

  3. Remove the 4WD shift collar (2).
  4. Remove the right side axle shaft seal using (special tool #8476, Installer, Seal), (special tool #C-4171, Driver Handle, Universal) and (special tool #C-4171-2, Extension, Drive Handle)
  5. Drive the axle seal inward to remove it.
