Rocker Arm, Valve: Removal: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate both of the negative battery cables.
  2. Remove the cylinder head cover. Refer to COVER(S), CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVAL, 6.7L .

    CAUTION:

    When removing the rocker arms, the sockets may come loose and fall into the engine. Make sure they stay with the arm upon removal/installation.

  3. Remove bolts (1) and the rocker arm (2) and pedestal (3), and crossheads (4) from cylinder head. Mark the rocker arms, pedestals, and crossheads so they can be installed in their original position.

    NOTE:

    The cowl panel provided access holes to allow the removal of the cylinder 5 exhaust and cylinder 6 intake and exhaust push rods. Remove the rubber plugs in the cowl to expose the access holes.

  4. Remove the push rod(s) (1) and note the order in which they were removed.
