  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel.
  3. Remove tie rod to knuckle nut (1).
  4. Loosen the nut/bolt on the tie rod adjuster sleeve (11) as necessary.

  5. Remove tie rod (3) from the knuckle (2) with (special tool #8677, Remover, Ball Joint) (1).
  6. Remove the tie rod end from the adjuster sleeve.
