Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR TCM CAN BUS DTCS
1. With the scan tool, read TCM DTCs.
  Are any TCM CAN bus DTCs present?
  
  Yes
  - Repair TCM CAN bus DTCs in accordance with the Service Information. If DTC U0001-CAN C BUS is set, perform that diagnostic first. Refer to the DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX - 8HP70 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - 1500 article .
  - Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Go To 2
CHECK IF PCM DTCS ARE PRESENT
1. With the scan tool, read PCM DTCs.
  Are any PCM DTCs present?
  
  Yes
  - Repair PCM DTC(s) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to the DTC INDEX - 1500 article .
  - Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Using the schematics as a guide, check the Transmission Control Module Assembly (TCMA) terminals for corrosion, damage, and pushed out terminals. Pay particular attention to the power and ground circuits. If no problems are found, replace and program the TCMA in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to VALVE BODY, REMOVAL . Refer to 8HP70 TCM PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE .
  - Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
