Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs and record on the repair order.
Is the DTC active or pending?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE FOR DTCS
- With the scan tool, read DTCs in the TCM.
Are there any DTCs set in the TCM?
Yes
- Perform the diagnostic procedure in the TCM. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX - 8HP70 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - 1500 article.
No
- Replace the Transmission Control Module in accordance with the Service Information.
Refer to MODULE, TRANSMISSION CONTROL, REMOVAL .
- With the scan tool, read DTCs in the TCM.
