Assembly, Diesel Exhaust Fluid Pump: Removal: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Drain the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) tank. Refer to DIESEL EXHAUST FLUID EMISSIONS, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  4. Remove the nuts (2) and the DEF tank shield (1).

  5. Disconnect the DEF pump wire harness connector (4).
  6. Disconnect the DEF pump supply line Norma connector (5). Refer to FITTING, QUICK CONNECT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  7. Remove the three DEF pump screws (2).

  8. Using a small screw driver, pry up on tab (1) and remove the DEF pump.
