3.0L Diesel Dual Exhaust

  1. Pre-assemble the muffler (2) and clamp (1) loosely to permit proper alignment of all parts.
  2. Hang the dual outlet muffler (2) on the isolators (4).
  3. Install the muffler (2) onto the exhaust pipe (3) and tighten the clamp to 65 N.m (48 ft. lbs.).
  4. Install the tailpipe assemblies. Refer to TAILPIPE, EXHAUST, INSTALLATION .
  5. Check the exhaust system for contact with the body panels. A minimum of 25 mm (1.0 in.) is required between the exhaust system components and body/frame parts. Make the necessary adjustments, if needed.
  6. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
  7. Start the engine and inspect for exhaust leaks. Repair exhaust leaks as necessary. Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING .
