Belt, Serpentine: Removal: 3.0L

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine cover (1).
  3. Remove the pressurized coolant bottle. Refer to BOTTLE, PRESSURIZED COOLANT, REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the electric vacuum pump. Refer to PUMP, ELECTRIC VACUUM, REMOVAL .
  5. Remove fasteners and position aside the resonator.

  6. Remove the front harmonic vibration dampener cover (1).

    CAUTION:

    Do not let tensioner arm snap back to the freearm position, severe damage may occur to the tensioner.

  7. Rotate belt tensioner (7) until it contacts its stop. Remove belt (2), then slowly rotate the tensioner (7) into the freearm position.
