Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU): Removal: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2015 RAM 1500. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect the battery cables from the battery.
  2. Using a brake pedal holder, depress the brake pedal past its first one inch of travel and hold it in this position. This will isolate the master cylinder from the brake hydraulic system and will not allow the brake fluid to drain out of the master cylinder reservoir.
