Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR ACTIVE DTC
- Turn the ignition off.
- Verify all chassis grounds are properly connected. Perform the CHECKING ECM POWERS AND GROUNDS diagnostic procedure. Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING, 6.7L .
- Turn ignition on, engine not running.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Is P0606 active?
Yes
- Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL, 6.7L DIESEL, REMOVAL .
No
- Go To 2
- CHECK FOR STORED DTC
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Is P0606 stored?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION - 6.7L .
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
- POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE
- With the scan tool, read the fault frequency in the Frequency Counter.
Does P0606 read 3 or more (times set)?
Yes
- Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL, 6.7L DIESEL, REMOVAL .
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION - 6.7L .
- With the scan tool, read the fault frequency in the Frequency Counter.
