Sensor, Camshaft Position: Removal: 6.4L

NOTE:
The Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP) is located on right side of engine timing cover.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Remove the air cleaner body. For 6.4L, refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL, .
- Clearance is minimal between the timing cover and the release tab (2) on the wire harness connector, using a pick (1) or equivalent will ensure the proper removal of the wire harness connector.
- Remove the wire harness connector (1) from the CMP sensor using a pick (2) or equivalent and position aside.
- Remove CMP sensor mounting bolt (2).
- Pull the CMP sensor (1) straight out of the timing cover, twist slightly if necessary.
- Check condition of sensor O-ring seal.
