Sensor, Camshaft Position: Installation: 6.4L

- Verify the machined hole in timing cover is clear of debris.
- Insert the Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP) (1) into timing cover.CAUTION:
Before tightening the CMP sensor retaining bolt, be sure the sensor is completely flush to the timing cover. If the sensor is not flush, damage to the sensor mounting tang may result.
- Install and tighten the mounting bolt (2) to 12 N.m (106 in. lbs.).
- Connect the wire harness connector (1) to CMP sensor and firmly press into place.
- Use a pick (1) or equivalent to lock the wire harness connector (2) into the proper position.NOTE:
Verify that the wire harness connector is fully seated and locked onto the CMP sensor.
- Install the air cleaner body. For 6.4L, refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION, .
- Connect the negative battery cable.
