Pump, Water: Removal: 6.4L

- Disconnect negative battery cable.
- Remove the intake assembly. Refer to MANIFOLD, INTAKE, REMOVAL, 6.4L GAS .
- Remove the mechanical cooling fan assembly. Refer to FAN, COOLING, ELECTRIC, REMOVAL and/or FAN, COOLING, VISCOUS, REMOVAL .
- Drain coolant into a clean container. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the upper radiator hose (4) from the thermostat housing (1) and position aside.
- If equipped, remove the secondary generator. Refer to GENERATOR, REMOVAL .
- Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, REMOVAL .
- Separate the hose (3) from the lower bypass tube.
- Remove lower radiator hose (2) from the water pump and position aside.
- Remove the EGR cooler hose (2) at the bypass tube (3).
- Remove the bolt (1) for the upper bypass tube from the timing cover.
- Remove the supply line (3).
- Disconnect the temperature sensor electrical connector (2).
- Remove the supply line bracket nut (1).
- Remove belt tensioner assembly (1) to gain access to the water pump bolt (14). Refer to TENSIONER, BELT, REMOVAL .
- Remove water pump mounting bolts and remove pump from the timing cover.
