Section 638 (Body - Interior & Exterior - 2500 Hd & 3500 Hd): DECKLID/Hatch/Liftgate/Tailgate: Latch: Removal: Removal

Remove the tailgate cover. Refer to COVER, TAILGATE, REMOVAL .
Using a grease pencil or equivalent, mark the actuator rod (3) at the control (2) for the latch (1) being serviced.
Disconnect the actuator rod from the control.

Remove the two bolts (1 and 4) that secure the latch (2) to the tailgate and position the tailgate check cable (6) out of the way.
Remove the latch from the tailgate.
