Diagnostic Test

- VERIFY THE DTC IS ACTIVE
- CHECK FOR BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) DTCS
- With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
Are there any BCM CAN Bus DTCs present?
Yes
- Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. Refer to the BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX - 1500 article.
No
- Go To 3
- With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
- CHECK FOR ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE (EPB) MODULE DTCS
- With the scan tool, read EPB DTCs.
Are there any EPB DTCs present?
Yes
- Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. Refer to the DTC INDEX - 1500 article.
No
- Go To 4
- With the scan tool, read EPB DTCs.
- CHECK OTHER MODULES FOR DTCS
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Are there any other modules reporting implausible communication DTCs against the EPB?
Yes
- Using the schematics as a guide, check the EPB Module pins, terminals, and connectors for corrosion, damage, or terminal push out. Pay particular attention to all power and ground circuits. If no problems are found, replace the Electric Parking Brake (EPB) Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to DTC INDEX - 1500 article.
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST.
Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Using the schematics as a guide, check the Transmission Control Module Assembly (TCMA) terminals for corrosion, damage or terminal push out. Pay particular attention to all power and ground circuits. If no problems are found, replace and program the TCMA in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to VALVE BODY, REMOVAL .
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
- CHECK WIRING AND CONNECTORS
- The conditions necessary to set the DTC are not present at this time.
- Using the schematics as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors specific to this circuit.
- Wiggle the wires while checking for shorted and open circuits.
- Check for any Service Bulletins that may apply.
Were there any problems found?
Yes
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Test complete.
