Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR ACTIVE DTC NOTE:
This application uses a ceramic Glow Plug. Using an incorrect application Glow Plug will set this DTC.
NOTE:This is a Glow Plug Performance DTC. If there are any Glow Plug Low/High/Lost Communication/or Invalid Data DTCs present, perform the Diagnostics for those DTCs before continuing with this one.
- Ignition on, engine not running.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
- Perform several ignition cycles leaving the ignition on for at least 10 seconds then off for 10 seconds.
- With the scan tool, read the PCM DTCs.
Did this DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT DTC .
- GLOW PLUG
- Turn the ignition off.
- Replace the Glow Plug using the proper application in accordance with the service information.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, erase PCM DTCs.
- Perform several ignition key cycles leaving the ignition on for at least 10 seconds per cycle.
- With the scan tool, read PCM DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC?
Yes
- Replace the Powertrain Control Module in accordance with the service information. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to PCM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Test complete.
- Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to PCM VERIFICATION TEST .
