  2. GENERATOR
    1. Turn the ignition off. Leave it off for 5 minutes.
    2. Disconnect the Generator Module harness connector.
    3. Ignition on, engine not running.
    4. With the scan tool, erase DTCs in the PCM.
    5. Crank the engine for no more than 10 seconds if it will not start.
    6. With the scan tool, select View DTCs.

      Is DTC U0407 active?

      Yes

      • Go To  3

      No

      • Replace the Generator in accordance with the service information.
      • Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to PCM VERIFICATION TEST .
  3. CHECK THE (D511) LIN BUS CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Glow Plug Module harness connector.
    3. Disconnect the PCM C1 harness connector.
    4. Measure the resistance between the (D511) LIN Bus circuit and all other circuits on the PCM C1 harness connector at the PCM C1 harness connector.

Is the resistance above 10k Ohms on all other circuits?

      Yes

      • Go To  4

      No

      • Repair the (D511) LIN Bus circuit for a short to the circuit that measured less than 10k Ohms.
      • Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to PCM VERIFICATION TEST .
  4. CHECK THE (D511) LIN BUS CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
    1. Measure the resistance between ground and the (D511) LIN Bus circuit at the Glow Plug Module harness connector.

Is the resistance above 10k Ohms?

      Yes

      • Go To  5

      No

      • Repair the (D511) LIN Bus circuit for a short to ground.
