Diagnostic Test

- CHECK THE FUEL INJECTOR CORRECTION CODES IN THE PCM NOTE:
If there are any Fuel Injector DTCs present, perform the Diagnostics for those DTCs before proceeding with this one.
- Turn the ignition off.
- Locate and record the correction code for the Fuel Injector (related to this DTC). The Injector correction codes are located on top of the Injectors.
- Turn the ignition on, engine not running.
- With the scan tool, read the Fuel Injector correction code stored in the PCM.
- Compare Fuel Injector correction code with the code programmed in the scan tool.
Is the Fuel Injector calibrated correctly?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Program the Fuel Injector correction code (related to this DTC) with the scan tool into the PCM. The Fuel Injector correction codes are located on top of the Injectors.
- Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to PCM VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK THE INTAKE SYSTEM FOR LEAKS OR RESTRICTIONS
- Check the entire intake system for a leak or restriction.
Were any problems found?
Yes
- Perform the appropriate repair in accordance with the service information.
- Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to PCM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 3
- Check the entire intake system for a leak or restriction.
- CHECK THE FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM
- Perform the CHECKING THE FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM diagnostic procedure. Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING

Were any problems found?
Yes
- Perform the appropriate repair in accordance with the service information.
- Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to PCM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 4
- Perform the CHECKING THE FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM diagnostic procedure. Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING

- CHECK THE ENGINE MECHANICAL SYSTEM
- Perform the CHECKING THE ENGINE MECHANICAL SYSTEM diagnostic procedure. Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING

Were any problems found?
Yes
- Perform the appropriate repair in accordance with the service information.
- Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to PCM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 5
- Perform the CHECKING THE ENGINE MECHANICAL SYSTEM diagnostic procedure. Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING

- POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE
- Turn the ignition off.
- Replace the Fuel Injector (related to this DTC) in accordance with the service information. Program the correction code for this injector into the Powertrain Control Module.NOTE:
The new Fuel Injector correction code is located on top of the injector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, Erase DTCs.
- Start the engine. Allow the engine to reach normal operating
- Monitor the scan tool for at least two minutes.
- With the scan tool, View DTCs.
Did the DTC return as active?
Yes
- Replace the Powertrain Control Module in accordance with the service information. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to PCM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Repair is complete.
- Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to PCM VERIFICATION TEST .
