Cooler, Exhaust Gas RECIRCULATION (EGR): Removal: Removal

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the front skid plate. Refer to PLATE, SKID, FRONT, REMOVAL .
  3. Drain the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  4. Lower the vehicle.
  5. Remove the EGR tube. Refer to TUBE, EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR), REMOVAL .

  6. Disconnect EGR temperature sensor wire harness connector (2).

  7. Disconnect the EGR valve wire harness connector (1).

  8. Disconnect the EGR cooler vacuum bypass hose (1).

  9. Remove bolts (1) the exhaust tube (2) to EGR cooler.

  10. Remove bolt (1) at the rear EGR cooler bypass valve support bracket (2).

  11. Remove bolts (1) and the EGR and cooler assembly (2).
  12. Remove and discard O-ring seals (3, 5-6).

  13. If necessary, remove bolts (2) and the EGR cooler manifold (1).
