3.0L Diesel

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Remove the right front wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, FRONT WHEELHOUSE, REMOVAL and SHIELD, SPLASH, REAR WHEELHOUSE, REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the serpentine belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, REMOVAL .

  5. Disconnect the field generator connector (4).
  6. Remove the protective cover (1) from the B+ cable (6).
  7. Remove the B+ nut (5) and cable (6) from the generator.

  8. Remove the nut (1) and the ground cable (2) from the generator.

  9. Loosen the lower outer generator bolt (2).
  10. Remove the lower inner bolt (1) from generator.

  11. Remove nut (1) and the coolant support hose bracket (2).

  12. Remove upper generator bolts (1) and the generator (2).
