Lower Timing Chain Cover

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the right and left upper timing chain cover. Refer to COVER(S), ENGINE TIMING, REMOVAL .

    NOTE:

    The crankshaft damper bolt is a left hand thread.

  3. Remove the vibration damper (2). Refer to DAMPER, VIBRATION, REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the generator. Refer to GENERATOR, REMOVAL .

  5. Remove the five oil pan-to-lower timing chain cover bolts.
  6. Remove bolts (1 and 3) and the lower timing chain cover (2).
