Diagnostic Test

  1. SECRET KEY INFORMATION NOT PROGRAMMED IN THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) 
    1. Ignition on, engine not running.
    2. Using the scan tool, program the Secret Key information into the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) using the PCM Replaced function in the WCM.
    3. Start the engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature.
      NOTE:

      If the engine will not start, crank the engine for 15 seconds. Crank at least two times with the ignition switch returning to the off position each time.

    4. With a scan tool, select View DTCs.

      Is the status Active for this DTC?

      Yes 

      • Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) in accordance with the Service Information.
      • Perform the PCM VERIFICATION Test. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
