- Clean out machined hole in timing gear/chain cover.
- Install sensor (2) into timing gear/chain cover with a slight rocking action. Do not twist sensor into position as damage to O-ring may result.CAUTION:
Before tightening the CMP sensor retaining bolt, be sure the sensor is completely flush to the timing cover. If the sensor is not flush, damage to the sensor mounting tang may result.
- Install mounting bolt (3) and tighten to 12 N.m (106 in.lbs).
- Connect electrical connector to sensor.
