- Remove the Starter Relay from the PDC.
- CHECK THE (T15) TRANSMISSION CONTROL AND PDC
- Turn the ignition OFF.
- Disconnect the PCM C2 harness connector.
- Using a fused jumper wire or 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, jumper the (T15) Transmission Control circuit on the appropriate terminal of the PCM C2 harness connector to actuate the internal transmission relay in the PDC.
- Ignition ON, Engine Not Running.
Does the (special tool #8333B, Simulator, Transmission) power on?
Yes
- Check the (T15) Transmission Control circuit connection at the PCM C2 connector. If no trouble is found and using the schematics as a guide, check the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) terminals for corrosion, damage or terminal push out. Pay particular attention to all power and ground circuits. If no problems are found, replace and program the PCM in accordance with the Service Information. With the scan tool, perform a Quick Learn.
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

- CHECK THE (T16) TRANSMISSION CONTROL OUTPUT CIRCUIT BETWEEN THE PDC AND PCM
- Using a fused jumper wire or 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, jumper the (T15) Transmission Control circuit on the appropriate terminal of the PCM C2 harness connector to actuate the internal transmission relay in the PDC.
- Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check all the (T16) Transmission Control Output circuits at the appropriate terminals of the PCM C2 harness connector.NOTE:
The (T16) Transmission Control Output circuit branches off to both the Transmission Solenoid/TRS Assembly and PCM.
NOTE:The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery.
Does the test light illuminate brightly for the (T16) Transmission Control Output circuits?
Yes
