Diagnostic Test

- ACTIVE DTC NOTE:
If DTC P0627 is present, repair that DTC before proceeding with this test.
- Turn the ignition on, engine not running.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Is the DTC active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- CHECK THE (N1) FPCM MOTOR FEED CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN/HIGH RESISTANCE
- Leave the ignition on, engine not running.
- With the scan tool, begin the Variable Speed Fuel Pump Relay Actuation Test.
- Disconnect the FPCM harness connector.
- Measure the voltage of the (N1) Motor Feed circuit at the FPCM harness connector.
Is the voltage measured equal to battery voltage?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Repair the (N1) Motor Feed circuit for an open or high resistance.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- CHECK THE (Z916) GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN/HIGH RESISTANCE
- Discontinue the Variable Speed Fuel Pump Relay Actuation Test.
- Turn the ignition off.
- With the FPCM harness connector still disconnected, measure the resistance between ground and the (Z916) Ground signal at the FPCM harness connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes
- Replace the Fuel Pump Control Module in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Repair the (Z916) Ground circuit for an open or high resistance.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
