Diagnostic Test

  1. ACTIVE DTC 
    NOTE:

    If DTC P0627 is present, repair that DTC before proceeding with this test.

    1. Ignition on, engine not running.
    2. With the scan tool, select View DTCs.

      Is the DTC Active at this time?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

  2. CHECK THE (N1) FPCM MOTOR FEED CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE 
    1. Turn the ignition on, engine off.
    2. With the scan tool, begin the Variable Speed Fuel Pump Relay Actuation Test.
    3. Disconnect the FPCM harness connector.
    4. Measure the voltage on the (N1) FPCM Motor Feed circuit at the FPCM harness connector.

      Is the voltage above battery voltage?

      Yes 

      • Repair the (N1) FPCM Motor Feed circuit for a short to voltage.
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

      No 

      • Replace the Fuel Pump Control Module in accordance with the service information.
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
