Diagnostic Test

- ACTIVE DTC
- Start the engine.
- Test drive the vehicle long enough to enter CNG fuel mode. Do not cycle the ignition off after the test drive is completed.
- With the scan tool, select view DTCs.
Is the status active or pending for this DTC?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- CNG FUEL INJECTOR RELAY
- Turn the ignition off.
- Replace the CNG Fuel Injector Relay in accordance with the service information.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Start the engine.
- Test drive the vehicle long enough to enter CNG fuel mode. Do not cycle the ignition off after the test drive is completed.
- With the scan tool, select view DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Repair complete.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- CHECK THE FUEL INJECTOR CONTROL CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN/HIGH RESISTANCE
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect all of the Fuel Injector harness connectors.
- Disconnect the PCM C2 harness connector.CAUTION:
Do not probe the PCM harness connectors. Probing the PCM harness connectors will damage the PCM terminals resulting in poor terminal to pin connection. Install the GPEC Diagnostic Adaptor to perform the diagnosis.
- Connect the (special tool #10436, Adapter, GPEC Diagnostic).
- Measure the resistance of all Fuel Injector Control circuits between each Fuel Injector harness connector and the GPEC Adaptor.
Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms for each Fuel Injector Control circuit?
Yes
- Replace the Powertrain Control Module in accordance with the service information.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Repair the Fuel Injector Control circuit that measured above 5.0 Ohms.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
