Diagnostic Test

- TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, record and erase the DTCs.
- Block the Light Sensor in the Interior Rearview Mirror.
- Shift the transmission to Drive (engine not running)
- Wait two minutes.
- With the scan tool, read the active DTCs.
Does the scan tool display; B1F05-11-ELECTROCHROMATIC MIRROR CONTROL CIRCUIT - CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND as active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- (P137) PASSENGER AUTO DAY/NIGHT MIRROR SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND

- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Passenger Outside Rearview Mirror (C1) harness connector.
- Measure the resistance between ground and the (P137) Passenger Auto Day/Night Mirror Signal.
Is the resistance below 20K Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the short to ground in the (P137) Passenger Auto Day/Night Mirror Signal circuit. If the harness appears good, replace the Mirror in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MIRROR, OUTSIDE REARVIEW, REMOVAL and MIRROR, OUTSIDE REARVIEW, GLASS, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Go To 3
- (P137) PASSENGER AUTO DAY/NIGHT MIRROR SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO THE (P138) PASSENGER AUTO DAY/NIGHT MIRROR RETURN CIRCUIT Fig 2: Checking Passenger Auto Day/Night Mirror Signal Circuit For Short To Passenger Auto Day/Night Mirror Return Circuit

- Measure the resistance between the (P137) Passenger Auto Day/Night Mirror Signal circuit and the (P138) Passenger Auto Day/Night Mirror Return circuit.
Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the short between the (P137) Passenger Auto Day/Night Mirror Signal circuit and the (P138) Passenger Auto Day/Night Mirror Return circuit. If the harness appears good, replace the Mirror in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MIRROR, OUTSIDE REARVIEW, REMOVAL and MIRROR, OUTSIDE REARVIEW, GLASS, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Go To 4
- Measure the resistance between the (P137) Passenger Auto Day/Night Mirror Signal circuit and the (P138) Passenger Auto Day/Night Mirror Return circuit.

- Measure the resistance between the (P137) Passenger Auto Day/Night Mirror Signal circuit (C1-4) and all designated Ground and Return circuits.
Is the resistance below 20K Ohms in any measurement?
Yes
- Repair the short between the (P137) Passenger Auto Day/Night Mirror Signal circuit and the Ground or Return circuit. If the harness appears good, replace the Mirror in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MIRROR, OUTSIDE REARVIEW, REMOVAL and MIRROR, OUTSIDE REARVIEW, GLASS, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Replace the Passenger Door Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, DOOR, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Measure the resistance between the (P137) Passenger Auto Day/Night Mirror Signal circuit (C1-4) and all designated Ground and Return circuits.
