- If the fuel injectors (3) are to be installed into the fuel rail (4)
Refer to INJECTOR(S), FUEL, INSTALLATION .
- Clean out the fuel injector machined holes in the intake manifold.NOTE:
If the same fuel injectors are to be reinstalled, install new O-rings.
- Apply a small amount of engine oil to each fuel injector O-ring. This will help in the fuel rail installation.
- Position the fuel rail assembly while aligning the injectors into the machined holes in the intake manifold.
- Guide each injector into the intake manifold using care not to tear the injector O-rings.
- Using a side to side motion, gently rock the left fuel rail while pushing down until all four left side fuel injectors have completely seated into the machined holes in the intake manifold.
- Install the four fuel rail mounting bolts (4). Tighten to 11 N.m (97 in. lbs.).
- Connect the breather hose (3).
- Connect the fuel line quick connect fitting to the fuel rail (2)
Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE - QUICK-CONNECT FITTINGS .
- Connect the PCV hose (1).
- Connect the electrical connectors to all eight fuel injectors. Push the connector onto the injector (1) and then push and lock the red colored slider (2). Verify the connector is locked to the injector by lightly tugging on the connector.
- Install the engine cover (1).
- Install the clean air tube (2) and air cleaner housing cover assembly (4) onto the throttle body.
- Connect the IAT sensor electrical connector (3).
- Connect the battery negative cable.
- Start the engine and check for leaks.
