    CAUTION:

Before separating a Quick-Connect fitting, pay attention to what type of fitting is being used. This will prevent unnecessary fitting or fitting latch breakage.

    NOTE:

Excessive fuel spillage onto the gaskets can cause gaskets to expand and dislodge from gasket groove.

  7. Place a rag or towel below the fuel line quick-connect fitting at the fuel rail.
  8. Disconnect the fuel line quick-connect fitting at the fuel rail (1) and plug with a shipping cap to prevent spillage Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE - QUICK-CONNECT FITTINGS  .
NOTE:

One or more Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's) may have been stored in the PCM memory due to disconnecting fuel pump module circuit. A diagnostic scan tool must be used to erase a DTC.
