Rail, Fuel: Installation: CNG

NOTE:

If the same fuel injector is to be reinstalled, install new O-rings.

NOTE:

Apply a small amount of clean engine oil to each injector O-ring. This will aid in the installation.

  1. Install the fuel injector (4) into the fuel rail (1) using a side to side motion while pushing injector into the fuel rail assembly.
  2. Using suitable pliers, install the fuel injector retaining clip (3).

  3. Install the fuel rail assembly (2) into the intake manifold using a side to side motion.
  4. Install the Fuel rail bolts (3). Tighten the bolts to 5 N.m (44 in. lbs.).
  5. Connect the fuel rail sensor electrical connector (1).
  6. Install the CNG fuel supply line (4) onto the fuel rail.
  7. Connect the fuel injectors electrical connectors.
    NOTE:

    Standard gasoline engine shown in illustration. CNG engine similar.

  8. Connect the breather hose (3).
  9. Connect the PCV hose (1) to the PCV.

  10. Install the air cleaner housing cover (3) and intake hose (1) to the throttle body.
  11. Connect the IAT sensor electrical connector (2).
  12. Start the engine and check for fuel leaks using a air leak detection fluid.
