Passenger Seat

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the power seat switch from the seat. Refer to SWITCH, SEAT, POWER, REMOVAL .
  3. Use an ohmmeter to test the continuity of the power seat switch using the following tables. If not OK, replace the inoperative power seat switch. If switch tests OK, check for an open or short in the power seat circuit wiring. If no open or short is found, replace the power adjuster motor(s) as required.
PASSENGER SEAT SWITCH CONTINUITY

SWITCH POSITION CONTINUITY BETWEEN
OFF 7-1, 7-3, 7-4, 7-8
RECLINER UP 6-3, 7-1, 7-4, 7-8
RECLINER DOWN 6-1, 7-3, 7-4, 7-8
HORIZONTAL FORWARD 6-8, 7-1, 7-3, 7-4
HORIZONTAL REARWARD 6-4, 7-1, 7-3, 7-8
