Switch, Heated Seat: Description: Front

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2013 RAM 3500 HD and 2013 RAM 2500 HD. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

There are two switch locations for the heated seats depending on the build of the vehicle:

  1. The heated switch can be located within the instrument panel center bezel. This switch is a momentary hard contact push button. Each panel heated seat switch has two Light-Emitting Diode (LED) indicator lamps, which indicate the selected level (Low or High) of the seat heater. Pressing the switch initiates heat. Heat remains on until switched off or until the ignition is turned off. If switched off by the ignition, a switch must be pressed to restart heating
  2. The heated switch can be located within the Radio Receiver Module (RRM) U-Connnect touch screen. This is a soft switch and is accessed through the climate control option selection. Pressing the heated seat indicator on this screen initiates heat. When the switch is selected to the ON position, the switch color turns red.

The LED indicator lamps in each of the hard heated seat switches cannot be repaired. If the LED lamps are faulty or damaged, or the switch is inoperative or damaged the switch bank assembly must be replaced. for the switchbank replacement procedure. Refer to SWITCH, HEATED SEAT, REMOVAL . If the issue is with the U-Connect selection, conventional diagnostic methods will not prove conclusive in the diagnosis of the electronic controls and communication between other modules and devices that provide some features of the heating and cooled accessories U-Connect touch screen operation. The most reliable, efficient, and accurate means to diagnose the electronic controls and communication related to heating and cooled accessories U-Connect touch screen operation requires the use of a diagnostic scan tool. Refer to the appropriate diagnostic information.
