Theory Of Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2013 RAM 3500 HD and 2013 RAM 2500 HD. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The Camera is activated when the ignition switch is in the RUN position. The (F923) circuit supplies power to the camera. The camera sends a video signal (std. NTSC i.e. TV) to the Rear View Mirror Display, using circuits (X970) camera signal, (X971) signal return and (X972) camera sheild, which displays on the Rear View Mirror Display screen. The screen toggles functions displaying only one kind of image at a time. And in reverse, the rear camera has priority. The (Z914) circuit is ground for the system.
