6.7L Diesel

WARNING:

Hot, pressurized coolant can cause injury by scalding. Cooling system must be partially drained before removing the coolant temperature sensor.

  1. Disconnect both negative battery cables.
  2. Remove the engine oil dip stick (3).
  3. Remove fasteners (1, 4) and the engine cover (2).
  4. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  5. Remove the EGR crossover tube. Refer to TUBE, EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR), CROSSOVER, REMOVAL .

  6. Remove bolts (1) and the heat shield (1).

  7. Disconnect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor wire harness connector (1).

  8. Remove the ECT sensor (1) from the cylinder head.
