4500 And 5500

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
  3. Remove the brake caliper. Refer to CALIPER, DISC BRAKE, REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the caliper adapter. Refer to ADAPTER, DISC BRAKE CALIPER, REMOVAL .

  5. Remove the hub extension (2) and disc brake rotor (1). Refer to ROTOR, BRAKE, REMOVAL .
  6. Remove the axle shaft nut (3) from the axle shaft.

  7. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor wire and remove the wheel speed sensor bolt (1) from the hub/bearing then remove the sensor (2).

  8. Loosen the hub/bearing 4 mounting bolts (1).

  9. Using (special tool #10415, Remover, Front Hub) and a pry bar (2), place the tool (1) onto the hub/bearing mounting bolts to separate the hub/bearing from the knuckle assembly.
  10. Remove the hub/bearing 4 mounting bolts (1) and remove the hub/bearing.
